Help Ekurhuleni CPF with funds to fight crime

The event was attended by members of the Elsburg SAPS including Warrant Officer Ambrose Mofokwane and Sgt Daphney Phooko, Elsburg SAPS communications officer.

The Elsburg CPF hosted a boerie sale on September 3.

The purpose of the event was to raise funds for their Elsburg Security Initiative Project.

Warrant Officer Ambrose Mofokwane, Margarretta Sekul, Sgt Daphney Phooko, Johan Lourens, Roelien Opperman, Karli Opperman and Caitlin-Jane Stewart.

During the event, they sold pre-loved clothes and boerewors rolls.

Johan Lourens, the CPF chairperson, said the forum raised funds to buy and install a system to monitor vehicle movement using license plate recognition cameras.

“Our fight to create a crime-free community continues and this is done in collaboration with Elsburg SAPS, EMPD, CCIN, the Elsburg CPF and local security companies. SPAR Lambton and SPAR Germiston sponsored the items for the boerewors sale,” said Lourens.

“This is an extensive project covering large areas. We call on the public and businesses to assist in whatever way to ensure this project is successful,” said Lourens.

He said one camera has been installed on Black Reef Road.

“Within a week of its installation and with the help of the SAPS we have enjoyed eight successes already.”

The event was attended by members of the Elsburg SAPS including Warrant Officer Ambrose Mofokwane and Sgt Daphney Phooko, Elsburg SAPS communications officer.

Phooko said the SAPS supports the CPF’s efforts to curb crime in the area.

“Through this initiative, we will be able to work together with the stakeholders involved and reduce crime in our areas,” said Phooko.
