Edenvale police maintain good relations with the public

On August 25, Edenvale Police Station’s communications officer Sergeant Jacob Mashile and Constable Mathapelo Mothobi of the Social Crime Prevention Unit met with Edenvale City Improvement District representatives to dicuss concerns in the area.

Mashile said the officers met with ECID manager Linda Mackenzie and discussed a topics related to crime affecting businesses.

“During the meeting, a series of concerns ranging from business robberies to the prevention of burglaries and crime prevention initiatives in the urban communities were discussed,” said Mashile.

“Discussions about the investigation of bussiness robbery dockets and the outcomes of case dockets were also reviewed.”

Mashile said the ECID manager was advised to frequently call the sector managers and report any suspicious activity.

Later officers continued to Eastleigh where they visited a store affected by crime and Const Mothobi and Sgt Teffo engaged with management of the shop.

“The officers warned management to be careful off suspects and suspicious vehicles roaming along Central Avenue,” said Mashile.
