Founded in 2010 with one U8 team Wasps Rugby Club has grown to the point where it was able to field its first ever senior team in the form of its U19 squad.

Over the past 12 years, the club has grown and nurtured rugby talent in the community.
On July 26 the Wasps U19s took to the field for the Golden Lions Rugby Unions 2022 Memorial Cup against Alberton Rugby Club.
The match was played at Edenvale High School.
According to the chairperson of the Wasps Rugby Club, Johann Joubert, the club has 440 registered rugby players for the 2022 club season.
“Catering for age groups from U7 to U18, the next logical step was to enter the senior arena.

“The club’s main goal is to provide our players with opportunities after school.”
