Cleveland police record three murders in one weekend

Spokesperson for the Cleveland SAPS Captain Johan Jordaan said two people were shot and one was stabbed to death.

Over the weekend of July 15 and 16, three people were murdered in the Malvern area.

Spokesperson for the Cleveland SAPS Captain Johan Jordaan said two people were shot and one was stabbed to death.

He said two people were killed in Persimmon Street, Malvern, in separate incidents on July 15, between 19:00 and 20:30.

Additionally, one person was stabbed to death at the corner of Mars and David streets, Malvern, after a fight.

“This is very sad and we urge the community to come forward with any information with regards to the murders,” he said.

“We ask the community to be calm during these tough times.

“The management of Cleveland Police station condemned these murders in the strongest terms and our investigators will do everything in their power to arrest the suspects and bring them to book,” Jordaan said.
