Edenvale Care Centre invites community to learn about day Hospice

The centre's awareness day, to be held on June 18, will also boast a blood drive to support SANBS.

To create awareness for World Blood Donor Day and the work it does in the community, Edenvale Care Centre Hospice will host a blood donation drive and an awareness day.

Set to be held on June 18 community members interested in making a difference and learning more about the centre are welcome to attend.

On the day community members can expect a white elephant sale, stalls and food and beverages on sale.

The event is set to start at 09:00 and end at 13:00.

Fund-raiser for Edenvale Care Centre Hospice Sam Atrash said by hosting the event the centre hopes to give back to the community and assist others.

“We don’t want to be a charity that only asks for assistance and donations, we want to try help where we can,” Sam explained.
Administrator for the centre Marlene Hooper said all community members are welcome to the event.

Marlene said in addition to assisting the South African National Blood Services she hopes community members will learn more about the centre during their visit.

She encouraged community members, who visit on June 18, to ask staff any questions to learn more about the centre.

In addition to inviting the community Sam said the centre needs volunteers for the day to ensure it runs smoothly.
