Sebenza Police Station communications officer Sgt Sharon Tsotsotso said the suspects were arrested on April 13 on charges of impersonating a police officer, possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

She said the suspect’s vehicle was identified leaving Edenvale and was intercepted by security personnel and members of the CPF.

“After the vehicle was stopped, a firearm, ammunition, police lights, sirens, a radio and vehicle key programmers were found inside of it,” said Tsotsotso.

“The vehicle was fitted with false number plates and blue lights and was determined to have been stolen in Douglasdale.”

Tsotsotso said the suspects will face their charges in Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court soon.

Sebenza SAPS station commander Lt-Col Cathrine van Wyngald thanked all of the role players who assisted and provided support.
