Edenvale business robbery foiled

“During the exchange, three suspects fled the scene and no valuables were taken.”

A suspect was arrested after security personnel foiled a business robbery.

Edenvale Police Station communications officer Sgt Jacob Mashile said the attempted business robbery occurred on March 7 near the corner of Harris Avenue and Lopis Place.

According to Mashile, four suspects were involved in the crime.

Mashile said the suspects, who were armed with pistols, were committing the crime when they were disturbed by security personnel.

He said two suspects were inside the business premises, while another two were outside when the security company arrived.

“When the suspects noticed the security personnel, they started shooting. The security company returned fire,” said Mashile.

“During the exchange, three suspects fled the scene and no valuables were taken.”
