Edenvale resident wins with Monster

Edenvale resident Dhavasundra ‘Jonathan’ Govender recently won an R55k Yamaha R1M motorbike in a Monster Energy giveaway.

Dhavasundra won the motorbike when he participated in the Fastest Pair competition after SMSing a bar code from a can of Monster Energy.
It had the Yamaha and an R1.8-million Mercedes-Benz AMG A45 S up for grabs.
“I was reading my horoscope and it said a big win was coming my way,” said Dhavasundra.
“To be honest, I haven’t driven something with this sort of horsepower. This is one of a kind. I thought it was one of the smaller bikes. I only realised how big it was when I saw it in front of me.”
Dhavasundra was incredibly excited about his big win, over half a million rands worth of bike, but was definitely a little daunted by the sheer brawn.
“I might have to have a few lessons from the Yamaha crew to get me ready for the track,” explained Dhavasundra.
“The bike looks pretty intimidating, so maybe a few lessons are needed.”
The Mercedes was won by 21-year-old Newcastle resident Tristan Louw.
