She previously worked and will, besides her communications role, continue with her role in social crime prevention.

Modiga joined the SAPS in 2005 and attended Police College for six months before she was posted to the Bedfordview Police Station.

She has experience in working with the public in the charge office and also served a year with the detectives at the station.

Modiga was active in sector police patrols and said this has helped her become well-acquainted with the Bedfordview area.

“I joined social crime prevention because I love to work with the community.”

She has a passion for working with children, the disabled and elderly, and said that one of the highlights of her career is interacting with various sectors of her community.

“In my role with social crime prevention, I help organise events and projects for the SAPS and the community,” she said.

Modiga wants to encourage the community to work with the police to ensure a better community for all.

“When we all work together, we can help everyone. We need to help everyone, no matter what their situation was or is,” she said.
