Communications officer for Sebenza SAPS Sgt Sharon Tsotsotso said she and Sgt Barbara Tshunungwa were on patrol around P91 when they received a call from a security company, which informed them that one of the licence plate recognition cameras yielded a positive response on a white Toyota Fortuner with a Pretoria West case number.

“I was given the location of the vehicle, which we followed until Ardeer Road near Pinelands Business Estate, where it was stopped,” said Tsotsotso.

The officers circulated the vehicle’s details through radio control, which returned the information as positive.

“We arrested the suspects and took them to Sebenza SAPS, where they were detained for the possession of a stolen vehicle,” said Tsotsotso.

She thanked Modderfontein CPF, ZSS Security, Nightguard Security and Mamba Security for their assistance.
