Eight Edenvale officers promoted

“We need police officers who have courage, integrity, loyalty and honesty in the SAPS,”

The hard work of eight officers from Edenvale Police Station was recently recognised when station management awarded promotions to the members.

Awarded during December, communications officer for the police station Sgt Jacob Mashile said the eight officers were promoted to the ranks of sergeant.

He said the officers’ new ranks came into effect on December 13.

Speaking to the officers, Edenvale SAPS acting station commander Lt-Col Eunice Nzuza and the station’s Vispol commander, Lt-Col France Marweshe, congratulated the new sergeants.

Nzuza reminded them of their commitment to serve and protect the citizens of SA.

She told them to note the various legislative directives that gave officers a mandate to conduct their duties effectively.

Marweshe encouraged the officers to get better acquainted with all legislation and official directives governing the SAPS.

“We need police officers who have courage, integrity, loyalty and honesty in the SAPS,” said Marweshe.

“Those who do not have these values have no place in the service.”
