Hurlyvale community goes all out for Halloween

Besides being an opportunity for community members to dress up, the carnival had a variety of rides, carnival games and prizes to be won.

Community members of all ages paid a visit to Hurlyvale Park and enjoyed the annual Halloween celebrations hosted by the Hurlyvale East and Buurendal Residents Association (HEBRA).

Enjoying themselves at the Halloween Spooky Carnival were the Claassen and Lawrence families. In the back row are Yvonne and Neels Claassen joined by Samantha Lawrence. In front are Skyelar, Hayleigh and Oliver.

Hosted on October 30, this year’s Halloween Spooky Carnival was the sixth event of its kind hosted by the association.

HEBRA committee member Caryn Myers previously told the NEWS the event was held as a way to encourage the community to get to know each other and for community members to enjoy themselves.

This year’s celebrations saw community members don a variety of costumes ranging from undead gamers to vampires, video game characters and everything in-between.
