Make a difference and volunteer with Hospice

"The time you share with us is invaluable to us.”

Hospice East Rand has called on community members looking to make a difference to volunteer at its charity shops.

“Volunteering is on your own terms, whether that be for an hour a week, one morning a week or a full day,” said Jonquil Siepman, marketing and media liaison for Hospice East Rand.

“The choice is yours but the time you share with us is invaluable to us.”

Besides helping the NPO, volunteering provides community members with the opportunity to meet new friends, have fun, counteract loneliness, feel useful within the community, especially for those people who have recently retired or where their job has been made redundant.

When community members volunteer with the organisation, they will be expected to attend to customers, unpack and sort through donated items and keep the shop tidy.

Jonquil said all Covid-19 protocol is strictly adhered to at all times for the safety of everyone in their shops.

Hospice East Rand charity shops are located in Edenvale, Germiston, Kempton Park, Benoni, Boksburg, Springs and Brakpan.

Those interested in volunteering can contact Carla at Hospice East Rand on 011 422 1531 or carla@hospiceeastrand.co.za
