Ekurhuleni warns residents of food parcel distribution scam

Residents are warned not to fall for scam messages of food parcel distribution.

The City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) warned residents to beware of food parcel distribution scam messages sent to the public through social media purporting to be from the CoE.

According to CoE spokesperson, Zweli Dlamini, the messages invite the residents to Reiger Park Technical School to supposedly receive food parcels.

“The public is warned not to fall for all these scam messages.

“The city reiterates that, as previously communicated, its programmes are conducted through recognised municipal platforms, such as the websites, city’s social media platforms or communication through the traditional media organisations,” Dlamini said.

The city urged the public to be vigilant and report fraud and corruption by calling 0800 102 201.
