JVW’s first team prepares for opening of sport

“The club’s coaches have done a great job to ensure the players are fit and in the best possible shape,” said Nyandeni.

Members of Janine van Wyk Football Club’s first team were hard at work preparing for the reopening of the sport.

The football players were spotted honing their skills at the club’s home ground at Jeppe Quondam on July 24.

Captain of the team Mpumi Nyandeni said although the pandemic caused disruptions to the sport, the team is looking forward to playing competitively again.

“The club’s coaches have done a great job to ensure the players are fit and in the best possible shape,” said Nyandeni.

Vice-captain Nomathemba Ntsibande said since the start of the pandemic it has become increasingly important for the team to keep morale high.

“As a team, we have to look out for one another’s well-being and health.”

Ntsibande said presently things are going well and the team has a good number of players present at its practices.

She gave credit to the systems management of the club have put in place.
