Community joins ECID to clean Edenvale

The second clean-up of its kind, held on June 12, formed part of ECID's drive to create a cleaner, greener and safer community.

Community members and Edenvale City Improvement District (ECID) joined forces when they cleaned a portion of Eastleigh Spruit and Denver Park.

The second clean-up of its kind, held on June 12, formed part of ECID’s drive to create a cleaner, greener and safer community.

The manager of ECID, Linda McKenzie, said by including community members encouraged them to take pride in their town and to reclaim their community.

Community members, Avenues residents and members of the Edenvale Lions Basketball Academy also did their part by getting their hands dirty.

“It is amazing to see how many businesses came to the party and assisted with the clean-up,” said Linda.

She said businesses such as Build It, Edenvale Steel and Tube, De Backery, Dowerglen KWIKSPAR and Lasher joined in to assist with the clean-up.

Linda said although the pandemic affected ECID membership she assured the community that the organisation is still going strong.
