The Casa Serena team is dedicated to offering our residents that care, love and respect they so richly deserve at this stage of their lives.
Casa Serena is a retirement home with an Italian flair. The home is situated in the tranquil setting of Essexwold, adjacent to the Italian Club and welcomes residents of all nationalities.
Casa Serena has qualified nursing personnel and offers assisted care and frail care. The home has ample natural light making it bright and sunny. It offers single or double rooms with private bathrooms. Additionally, the home is wheelchair friendly throughout.
The home is surrounded by manicured gardens with seating for residents and visitors. Residents receive three meals per day based on a healthy Mediterranean diet, as well as morning and afternoon tea or coffee.
Laundry and room service are all included. The home offers an entertainment hall where residents can socialise, play games, watch movies or just simply relax. Covid protocols are observed throughout.

Festivities including Christmas, New Year, Easter, Mother’s and Father’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Human Rights Day and Heritage Day are all celebrated with great enthusiasm. This year Mother’s Day was celebrated with a small gift for each woman and all residents had a Mother’s Day cupcake for dessert after a scrumptious lunch.
During the past 15 months of this worldwide pandemic, Casa Serena has made the health and safety of the residents a top priority. The home is guided by the Department of Health and has followed government regulations during the various levels of lockdown.
The premises are regularly inspected and guided by healthcare professionals and therefore update our Covid protocols accordingly. Various departments are advising procedures on the administration of vaccine as soon as available, with the consent of each individual.
