Silver medal, new PB for Edenglen athlete

The championships were hosted in Paarl at the start of May and saw the Edenglen athlete compete in the 100m and 200m distances.

Edenglen High School learner Kaylee Le Roux competed in the Athletics SA Championships in Paarl where she came fourth in the 200m in the u-18 category. The championships were hosted at the start of May and saw the Edenglen athlete compete in the 100m and 200m distances.

Kaylee set herself a new personal best in the 100m in her heat with a time of 12.26, her previous PB was 12.29. She finished second in her heat, third in the semi-finals and eighth overall for the girls u-18 100m.

She competed against 32 other athletes in the sprint. While running the 200m, Kaylee set two new PB in the 200m in her heat with a time of 25.13. Her previous PB was 25.18.

Kaylee finished second in her heat and fourth overall in the finals. She competed against 24 other athletes in the 200m. Besides setting new personal bests for herself, Kaylee was selected for the relay team for girls u-18 for the 4x100m. Kaylee’s relay team brought home a silver medal.
