School child dies after allegedly jumping from council building

A child believed to be a school learner in Edenvale died after allegedly jumping from the Boksburg Civic Centre this afternoon.

Boksburg police are investigating the circumstances leading up to the child's death.

The girl is believed to be aged between 13 and 19.

Boksburg police told Boksburg Advertiser that they received a call from the scene alleging that a girl had jumped from the eighth floor of the municipal building.

Police at the scene stated that the circumstances leading up to the incident are not yet known. Reports from the scene are that the girl attended school in Edenvale.

She was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.
