Stingrays wrap up the swimming season

"These young swimmers have shown true grit and determination and can be really proud of themselves."

Edenvale Stingrays Swim Club wrapped up the swimming season after several of its members improved themselves and brought home medals for themselves and the club.

According to Kate Jones, the past season was a trying one.

“The team had to be split both at training and galas due to Covid regulations, but they persevered and have done extremely well under the circumstances.”

Of the 30 registered swimmers, 13 qualified to do level two and 13 made level three. During the last two weeks of the seasons, the Stingrays competed at level two and three regional swimming events.

“This itself is an awesome achievement having simply qualified to attend,” said Jones.

However, she said several swimmers had school commitments so not all who qualified could compete. Jones said many of the club’s swimmers made it to the finals and into the top 10 of the age groups, winning medals for themselves.

“These young swimmers have shown true grit and determination and can be proud of themselves.”
