Get a head start on your matric exams with the matric catch-up programme

Get started on your good marks for 2021 with this new catch-up programme

The national matric examination results came out on 23 February. What may have been the toughest year yet due to the Covid-19 pandemic, learners are optimistic about their futures. Phathu Nemukula, ICT director of Vivlia Publishers and Morningside resident, has launched a matric catch-up programme with a focus on the key points for the examinations. With a chance of matric rewrites, this programme can help streamline the work for better results.

Known for providing accessible and educational material, Vivlia has prioritised an inclusive product that will put learners’ needs first. Nemukula said the programme was inspired by the lockdown. “During lockdown, with everyone trying to find digital resources because we already lost a lot of learning and teaching time, the idea is to cross reference with past exam papers. It also helps you to actually see how you should answer the questions and the type of answers you need to provide to get the maximum marks.”

Inside every book’s cover is a whole new world just waiting to be discovered. Nemukula added that it also helped learners to identify areas they were lacking in and to improve through activities and assessments. Initially the catch-up programme was meant to be available only online but the company wanted to make it available for all and made a hardcopy as well.

“The lockdown also made us aware of the inequalities we have in our country and so there were many people who would actually not be able to access the content online.” Covering languages and mathematics, prices range from R65 to R170.

Not your traditional study guide, the catch-up programme will guide matrics to success by way of interactive quizzes, comprehension guidance skills, tests and memoranda. Incoming matric learners can start preparing for the 2021 prelims and final exams. Grade 11 learners can also purchase the programme for a head start in 2022 and it is available in all 11 official languages. To purchase the book or for more information click here.
