Edenvale Care Centre Hospice receives a new wheelchair

“To everyone who contributed, a huge thank you. Let’s make 2021 a year of collecting bottle tops to the extreme.”

Edenvale Care Centre Hospice was the recent recipient of a wheelchair, following a large collection drive of plastic bottle tops.

On February 11, Dr Pierre Marais of the centre received the wheelchair at the board meeting on behalf of the centre.

For several years, Marlene Hooper from Edenvale Care Centre Hospice has collected plastic bottle tops with the assistance of friends, neighbours and staff at the centre.

Without everyone involved in the collection drive, it would not have been possible to collect the thousands of bottle tops needed.

Marlene said the collected bottle tops were handed over to a woman who works in close partnership with a recycling company through whom the wheelchair was organised.

“To everyone who contributed, a huge thank you. Let’s make 2021 a year of collecting bottle tops to the extreme.”
