A man was arrested by the Sebenza SAPS and charged with perjury on December 28.
According to the spokesperson for the station, Sgt Sharon Tsotsotso, the man arrived at the station on the day and alleged that he was hijacked by two men.
During the course of the investigation, a suspect was arrested at Greenstone Shopping Centre while in possession of the alleged hijacked vehicle.
During questioning the man revealed that he had not hijacked the vehicle but he had planned the disappearance of the vehicle with the complainant.
Tsotsotso urged community members to not open false cases.
