Eddievale makes his debut

The welfare society attended the market held recently and raised awareness on what and who Child Welfare is and what they do.

Eddievale from Child Welfare SA Edenvale and Bedfordview made a debut at the Bedfordview Craft Market.

The welfare society attended the market held on October 25 and raised awareness on what and who Child Welfare is and what they do.

Topics they specifically focused on included social issues, gender-based violence and human trafficking.

The welfare’s mandated areas are Edenvale and Bedfordview. It provides social welfare support to families, and protects the well-being, safety and development of children.

“We receive limited funding from the Department of Social Development and rely on donations from the community and corporates for day-to-day running costs and to extend our services to outreach programmes,” said office administrator Jenny Kennedy.

She thanked Eden Angels and community members, South African Women Fight Back, Edenvale SAPS, EMPD Social Crime and the National Freedom Network for information pamphlets, their donations of sweets and all other assistance.
