Boy (3) drowns at Edenvale property

"After 40 minutes and despite the effort of the paramedics, no vital signs returned."

A 3-year-old boy drowned earlier today at an Edenvale residence.

Edenvale SAPS spokesperson Sgt Jacob Mashile said the boy drowned in a swimming pool at a Third Avenue property.

“ER24 paramedics arrived on scene at about 12.50pm to find the family trying to rush the child privately to hospital,” ER24 stated.

“Medics assessed him, finding no signs of life. CPR and advanced life support interventions were initiated in an effort to revive the child.

After 40 minutes and despite the effort of the paramedics, no vital signs returned, and the child was declared dead.” Mashile said an inquest was opened.
