South Africa’s Covid-19 statistics, dated October 23 and released by the Department of Health, shows a 90 per cent recovery rate.

A further 48 Covid-19 related deaths were reported bringing the total number of deaths to 18 891.
An additional 23 445 tests were conducted bringing the total number of tests to 4 657 116. The cumulative total of cases is 712 412.
Gauteng remains the hot spot with 31.8 per cent of cases.
