A 33-year old doctor driving a VW Golf GTI hatchback was arrested on October 18 for travelling at 180km/h on the N12 in Bedfordview.
He told officers that he was on call before he was arrested and taken to the Bedfordview Police Station.
On the same day, six more speedsters were caught on the same stretch of highway travelling at between 163km/h and 170km/h.

Some of the excuses given included a sister giving birth and performing informant duties.
Those caught were charged with reckless and negligent driving and will appear in court soon.
