South Africa recorded a total of 642 560 (90.4 per cent) recoveries in its Covid-19 statistics released on October 22.
The total number of deaths as a result of Covid-19 is 18 843.
The total number of tests conducted as of October 22 was 4 633 671.

2 156 new cases were reported bringing the cumulative total to 710 515.
Gauteng remains the hot spot for the virus with 226 363 confirmed cases and 205 216 recoveries.
KwaZulu-Natal has recorded 121 802 confirmed cases and 112 420 recoveries.
