Sebenza SAPS reports crime hot spots of the past week

Statistics will only be discussed during SAPS’s next meeting

Sebenza SAPS spokesperson Sgt Sharon Tsotsotso informed Express of the most prevalent crime tendencies and hot spots in Kempton Park during the last week.

In addition, she stated that on Friday, Sebenza officials, in collaboration with Mamba Security, SOS and ATD, facilitated a traffic operation for drinking and driving in Sebenza, Croydon, Cresslawn, Esther Park, Modderfontein and Longmeadow.

“Six suspects were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, in addition to two traffic signs being erected on Zuurfontein Road.”

Tsotsotso said stats will only be discussed during SAPS’s next meeting and media is only to be informed of the hot spots so Kemptonians may be weary in these following areas:

Hijackings
Hijackings were reported to be a high risk factor in Cresslawn, Modderfontein and Kempton Park West. No details of dates, times or amount of suspects and relevant details pertaining to the crimes were released for publication.

House robberies
Esther Park proved to be problematic as far as house robberies were concerned. Again, no detailed report regarding house robberies was released and members of the community are reminded to have all entrances to their homes securely locked at all times.
Business robberies were also recorded in Longmeadow.

Robbery with firearms
Tsotsotso reported armed robberies occurred in Spartan and Kempton Park West. An unknown amount of suspects or modus operandi of these crimes were released.
