The passenger of a light delivery vehicle was killed while the driver was critically injured following a traffic collision on the N3 freeway northbound.

The incident, involving four vehicles (two bakkies, a hatchback and a truck) occurred on September 30 near the Gillooly’s Interchange.

City of Ekurhuleni’s Disaster Management and Emergency Services (DEMS) spokesperson William Ntladi said personnel from Bedfordview Fire Station responded to the scene after the emergency call centre received the call at 1.16pm.

He said the vehicles involved in the crash completely obscured three traffic lanes of the freeway.
