R554/Heidelberg Road to be partially closed for repairs

"The road will be partially because of a broken concrete parapet on the railway bridge, which needs to be repaired as it poses a risk to road user."

Motorists and commuters can expect the R554/Heidelberg Road to be partially closed for almost a month for repairs.

EMPD spokesperson, Kobeli Mokheseng, said the dual carriage way in both directions in the Roodekop, Junction Hill and Germiston areas between Blackreef and N3 bridges will be affected.

The portion of Heidelberg Road will be closed from September 14 to October 13.

“The road will be partially because of a broken concrete parapet on the railway bridge, which needs to be repaired as it poses a risk to road users,” said Mokheseng.
