Covid-19: Recovery rate increases to 88.9%, 2 007 new cases reported

A further 97 Covid-19 related deaths were reported bringing the total number of deaths to 15 265.

South Africa’s Covid-19 statistic dated September 10 and released by the Department of Health shows a slight increase in the recovery rate.

Nationally the recovery rate stands at 88.9 per cent (573 003), a slight increase from the previous report.

The total number of tests now stands at 3 863 453 with 20 555 new tests conducted since the previous report. 2 007 new cases were reported bringing the cumulative total to 644 438.

Gauteng remains the hot spot with 33,3 per cent of cases.

The province has 21 063 active.

Active cases in other provinces are Eastern Cape 1 267, Free State 12 793, KwaZulu-Natal 7 891, Limpopo 596, Mpumalanga 987, North West, North West 4 784, Northern Cape 3 164 and Western Cape 3 625.
