With the end of the year approaching, Ward 18 Clr Heather Hart hopes Horwoods’ Farm will be open to the public this December.

The park has been closed to the general public for close to two years following upgrades which started in 2018.

Despite the park being closed several changes have been made to change its appearance. The project, which has cost close to R20-million, has seen the park remodelled, sports and exercise facilities added, the play area upgraded, new gazebos constructed and a new braai area added.

Hart said phase three is underway and will see a new ablution block and guardhouse constructed at the park.

“Once phase three is completed there will only be a few small things that need to be addressed,” said Hart.

“Overall, the contractors involved in the project have stuck to their schedule despite being slowed down by the pandemic.”

Hart commended the municipality for seeing the need to give the park a facelift.
