Child Welfare SA Edenvale and Bedfordview receives generous donation

Benoni-based business Alaskan Snow Manufacturing lent a hand to Child Welfare SA Edenvale and Bedfordview when it donated to the organisation.

Benoni-based business Alaskan Snow Manufacturing lent a hand to Child Welfare SA Edenvale and Bedfordview when it donated to the organisation.

The donation was made on July 24 at the Edenvale-based branch.

Edenvale resident Meg McDonald assisted the owners of the business Jenny and Darryl Lush to donate the parcels.

Representatives from Benoni-based business Alaskan Snow Manufacturing made a donation of 300 food parcels on July 24 to Child Welfare SA Edenvale and Bedfordview.

Meg said through donations from the community Alaskan Snow were able to donate powdered food to the welfare.

“In the past month we handed over quantities of meal in a bag, soup and porridge to Khanyisa Trust, Tabitha House, The Hope Foundation, Mohau Orphanage, Operation Hunger and more,” said Meg.

She explained that a drive was held during Mandela Month to assist the charities.

“The Mandela Day food pack consisted of 500g of maize meal and 250g of soup in a bag and cost R67.

“Three hundred Mandela Day food packs were handed over to Child Welfare SA Edenvale and Bedfordview.

“For every meal purchased by the community, Alaskan Snow donated items toward the drive.”

Meg said the surrounding community stood up and lent a hand.

She said Kaele’ Angelea Maistry assisted with the drive by donating money which accounted for 17 food packs.

“We are grateful to every person that has contributed to help us continue to feed the hungry tummies.

“We hope to continue being able to assist in feeding our community.”
