Weekend of successes for Benoni Flying Squad

Four people were arrested for contravening the National Disaster Management Act and cigarettes and liquor were confiscated.

Officers from the Benoni Flying Squad arrested nine suspects and recovered six stolen vehicles over the weekend.

Additional successes for the team included the recovery of a firearm and three live rounds of ammunition.

Some of those arrested will face additional charges for bribery and possession of drugs including crystal methamphetamine.

In Tsakane, officers recovered a white Citi Golf reported stolen from Crystal Park and arrested one suspect.

In Midrand, two people were arrested on Old Pretoria Road when the white Nissan Navara they were travelling in turned out to be stolen.

The stolen vehicle was linked to a Kameeldrift case.

Flying Squad members along with officers from the Putfontein SAPS arrested two suspects in Mayfield.

The two were linked to a robbery and murder case in Barcelona, Etwatwa.

An unlicensed 9mm Luka pistol with three rounds of ammunition was confiscated on the scene.
