Bedfordview businesses donate to new Bedfordview SAPS boardroom

The station does not have a boardroom at the moment.

In support of Mandela Day, Bedfordview CPF, Jurgens Bekker Attorneys, Build It Bedfordview and Union Tiles Bedfordview donated towards a boardroom facility at Bedfordview Police Station.

Jurgens Bekker said the firm has come on board as donors and will also pay for the labour.

“The idea is to fix up the room and to hand it over on Mandela Day to be a functional boardroom for the BCPF and Bedfordview SAPS officers,” said Bekker.

“We will fix the room and then furnish it, including a microwave and a fridge,” Bekker said.

Bekker also said the firm will replace the parking ports at the station.

He mentioned the initiative began on July 7 and plans to conclude the project by July 18.

“We try to help within the community we are based,” said Bekker.

Appealing to other community members, he said donations are welcome.

“Participation by other businesses or community members in Bedfordview is needed. There are other projects at the station which need attention and any bit will help.

“The BCPF and the station will have a place to meet and it will improve the station and make it more visible, said Bekker.

Build It Bedfordview donated paint and Union Tiles donated porcelain tiles and adhesive for the new boardroom.

Union Tiles hopes that by improving the station, this small gesture will trickle down and benefit the residents of the community.

Those who wish to support the project can contact the BCPF on 060 755 4913.
