Covid-19 in stats: 4 302 new cases, 2.1% mortality rate and 55% recover rate

The total number of tests conducted stands at 1 121 958.

South Africa has recorded 57 more coronavirus fatalities to push the death toll to 1 480.

Covid-19 in South Africa now has a mortality rate of 2.1 per cent.

The total number of Covid-19 recoveries in South Africa to date stands at 38 531 which also means that South Africa has a virus recovery rate of 55 per cent.

A total of 4 302 new cases were recorded by June 14 with both the Eastern Cape and Gauteng surpassing the 10 000 case mark.

The Western Cape’s total case number by June 14 was 42 539 with 27 527 recoveries.

The province now accounts for 60.7 per cent of the national case total.

The total number of recorded cases in Gauteng stands at 11 164 with 3 207 recoveries.

The Eastern Cape has recorded a total of 10 027 coronavirus cases as well as 5 244 recoveries.

The total number of cases in Kwa-Zulu Natal stands at 3 874 and recoveries for the province stands at 1 810.

The total number of tests conducted stands at 1 121 958. Of these 34 071 tests were conducted in the 24 hours between June 13 and June 14.

The private sector has conducted 16 373 new tests to bring the total number of cases conducted to 544 192.

The public sector has conducted a total of 577 766 tests.
