“We extended school hours to 4pm. The learners have been accommodating to these changes as they understand they have lost a lot of time and need to catch up on the syllabus,” said Tshisudi.

“The premises have been sanitised beforehand and we have protocols in place, such as when you enter the school you are then screened which includes a temperature reading.”
He said staff and learners have to adhere to these protocols, before and after school.
“While in the classroom, we adhere to the social distancing protocols and learners wear masks at all times,” said Tshisudi .
He said learners do not change classes and are stationed in one class with each learner having their own table and chair.
Currently there are 29 teachers and 123 learners at the school.
Tshisudi said during lockdown, the school was in contact with the Grade 12 learners regarding school work.
He said three parents requested that their children not attend school.
“We are working on ways we can assist these learners remotely,” said Tshisudi.
“Time is of the essence. We would prefer all learners be at school, but the school supports the decision of parents.”
