Edgars Eastgate closed on Friday after an employee at the branch tested positive for Covid-19.
“Edgars can confirm that a supplier employee at Edgars Eastgate, has tested positive for Covid-19. Our priority is the health and safety of our employees and our customers.
“In line with our procedures the Edgars Eastgate store is closed for extensive deep cleaning by specialists and will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so,” said an Edgars spokesperson.

According to Eastgate Shopping Centre’s marketing manager, Alana Hoskin the store activated it’s Covid-19 response plan and closed for thorough disinfection.
“The store will reopen when they are in a position to do so.”
“Eastgate Shopping Centre remains committed to the wellbeing and safety of all shoppers, tenants and staff during the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Hoskin.
The centre continued trade as normal in line with lockdown regulations.
