Covid-19: Coronavirus in stats – 1 032 new cases, 52 deaths and 11 917 recoveries

The Western Cape accounts for 65.2 per cent of the national total.

South Africa has recorded 52 more coronavirus fatalities to push the death toll to 481.

The total number of Covid-19 recoveries in South Africa is 11 917.

A total of 1 032 new cases were recorded.

The Western Cape’s total case number today stands at 15 396 with 7 221 recoveries.

The province now accounts for 65.2 per cent of the national total.

The total number of recorded cases in Gauteng now stands at 2 993 with 1 899 recoveries.

The Eastern Cape has recorded a total of 2 748 coronavirus cases, as well as 1 335 recoveries.

The total number of cases in KwaZulu-Natal stands at 1 882 and recoveries for the province stand at 1 168.

A total of 596 777 tests have been conducted in the country.

Of these 12 922 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.

The private sector has conducted 7 449 new tests to bring the total number of tests conducted to 292 903.

The public sector has conducted a total of 303 874 tests, 5 476 of which are new.

The breakdown of the remainder of provinces is as follows:

  • Free State: 208
  • Limpopo: 132
  • North West: 109
  • Mpumalanga: 102
  • Northern Cape: 45
