Collaborative arrest while combing the streets

Sebenza Police Station Sgt Sharon Tsotsotso said the traffic police prompted a silver Toyota Corolla to stop, but the driver sped off.

Gauteng Traffic Police (GTP) arrested three suspects after a cop chase from Zuurfontein and the corner Allandale Road on the morning of May 16.

Communications officer of Sebenza Police Station Sgt Sharon Tsotsotso said the traffic police prompted a silver Toyota Corolla to stop, but the driver sped off.

“The traffic police called for backup at about 9am. They gave chase and managed to stop the vehicle in Kempton Park. One suspect jumped out of the vehicle and tried to flee on foot but was arrested,” said Tsotsotso.

Three suspects detained at Sebenza Police Station after they sped from traffic officials and were found in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

Three men aged 33, 34 and 41 were arrested.

“GTP members found three 9mm pistols, ammunition and one revolver hidden on the inside of one of the car’s doors. The scene was attended by Local Criminal Record Centre members, Lt Col Tsebe and Capt van der Walt.?”

According to the GTP, the suspects were allegedly intercepted while on their way to commit a business robbery.
