Gauteng recorded one more Covid-19 death bringing its total number of deaths to six.

The province also saw an increase of 39 in the number of Covid-19 positive cases bringing its total to 969 of which 62 cases are unallocated.
The number of recoveries remain at 479.
Johannesburg remains the epicentre with a total of 575 cases followed by Ekurhuleni with 180 cases, Tshwane with 109, West Rand with 35 and Sedibeng with eight cases. These numbers are all applicable as of April 16.
