Covid-19 – Make the most of the lockdown

Hospice East Rand encouraged community members to declutter and clean their cupboards

With everyone inside their homes during the national lockdown, Hospice East Rand encouraged community members to declutter and clean their cupboards.

The charity shops the organisation relies on for funding are in need of second-hand items.

Brenda Bisschoff, administration manager for Hospice East Rand, said the organisation relies heavily on donations from the community, whether it be monetary or unwanted household items.

Hospice East Rand encouraged community members to declutter, clear their homes and donate any unwanted second-hand items to the organisation’s charity shops.

Hospice has 11 charity shops situated on the East Rand.

The charity shops in Edenvale are located at 27 Central Avenue and 48 Shelton Avenue.

Items can be delivered to one of these shops when the lockdown is over.

For bigger items or bulk donations, Hospice East Rand can collect when the lockdown is over.

The charity shops remain closed during the lockdown.
