The World Health Organisation stated that “even home-made masks are partially protective”. We remind our readers about WHO’s guidance that masks are only effective when used in combination with frequent hand-cleaning using alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.

Masks are also only effective if worn and disposed of properly.
