Covid-19: Remember to pay your municipal account

Ekurhuleni residents who do not pay will face service interruptions.

Residents in Ekurhuleni must still pay their municipal accounts during the national lockdown.

Non-payment of accounts will result in service interruptions.

Ekurhuleni residents have a number of ways in which they can pay for their accounts.

Residents can register on the City’s online system, www.siyakhokha.ekurhuleni.gov.za, and view, manage and pay accounts online.

Residents who experience any problems registering or need to query their account can email to Siyakhokha@ekurhuleni.gov.za

Ekurhuleni’s Customer Care Centres and finance offices will be open during the lockdown but they will be operated by a skeleton staff.

Residents of Ekurhuleni will be able to query and pay their accounts, as well as buy prepaid electricity between 8.30am and 3.30pm on weekdays, except for Wednesdays, when the centres will operate from 9am to 3.30pm.

Residents visiting the centres are asked to strictly adhere to social distancing and any other precautions set out by the municipality.

Municipal accounts can also be paid at any of the following retail stores: Pick n Pay, Makro, Shoprite, Spar, Checkers and at banks.

To avoid disconnections and for Siyakhokha support the City has set up a dedicated WhatsApp number.
