Flying squad officers move up in the ranks

Lt Col Tali Lukhele congratulated members and explained that with the new rank comes more responsibilities in the service.

Five officers from Benoni Flying Squad were recently promoted from the rank of constable to sergeant.

The unit, formerly known as the North Rand Flying Squad, actively patrols highways and areas which include Edenvale.

The offices promoted included Musa Sibeko, Meshack Maphane, Elias Modipa, Molatelo Sadiki and Zacky Chauke.

They received their promotion on March 18 from the commander of the squad Lt Col Tali Lukhele who was assisted by Capt Lenco Mofokeng.

Lukhele congratulated members and explained that with the new rank comes more responsibilities in the service.

He advised them to continue with the high standard of service the Flying Squad maintains and set the example for junior members in keeping the discipline the unit is known for.

The parade ended with members reminded to embrace and practice the code of conduct and code of ethics of the South African Police Service on a daily basis.
