Covid 19: Fikile to brief media on transport lockdown

The 21-day lockdown will severely affect mobility in the maritime, aviation, rail and road transportation sectors.

Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula will announce the transport lockdown plans at a media briefing in Pretoria tomorrow.

President Cyril Ramaphosa informed the nation last night that Southa Africa will go into a 21-day lockdown, from midnight on March 26 until midnight on April 16.

Mbalula will address all transport related queries as part of the justice, crime prevention and security cluster media briefing.

The 21-day lockdown will severely affect mobility in the maritime, aviation, rail and road transportation sectors.

Mbalula is expected to provide details on the implementation strategy of the president’s pronouncement.
