A heartfelt thanks from Edenvale Care Centre’s Sr Leigh

“We were basically called nonstop by people asking for our banking details.”

With Edenvale Care Centre Hospice’s generator up and running, Sister Leigh extended her heartfelt thanks to the community of Edenvale for coming to the centre’s assistance.

The generator’s fuel tank was recently replaced after it was discovered that water had entered the previous one.

“The repair of the generator is a massive relief off my shoulders,” said Leigh.

She said the day after the NEWS’ February 5 article titled ‘Edenvale Care Centre Hospice needs funds for generator’, the centre was inundated with calls.

“We were basically called nonstop by people asking for our banking details.”

Leigh said with the repair of the generator, she can once again admit patients who require oxygen machines.

Even if there is a power failure or load-shedding the centre can continue to provide care for its patients.

Leigh explained that the centre has a waiting list of patients at the moment.

“The remainder of the funds donated by the community will be used to cover the general running costs of the centre.

“The assistance from the community really showed the helpful nature and community spirit of Edenvale residents.”
