Pinnacle College Founders Hill in Modderfontein saw a crowd of parents and learners from all grades streaming through its gates for the first day of school on January 15.
Many were in a rush to get to their respective classes while other parents and their children were already settled in their classroom.
Some first timers were accompanied by their entire family to witness their first day at school, one of which was Marco de Sousa.
Marco was accompanied by his parents and two brothers who are yet to join him in the coming years.
Regardless of the morning bustle, educators warmly welcomed learners and attended to all the new parents’ questions.
Other parents needed no questions answered because they had years of experience at the school.
Ashleigh Greenley, a mother of twins, London and Harrison in Grade One, said she has another child in a higher grade so getting through the morning rush was not too much of a hassle for them.
Another of many jovial mothers, Morongwe Matlabathe, did not want to miss the moment as she took selfies with her first grader before getting him to his class.
“This is the very first time we are doing this, I am so excited.”
Success and happiness to the Grade One class of 2020.
