100% pass for Jeppe Girls

One hundred and fifty-five of the 157 candidates who wrote the exams passed with marks which will allow them to study further at tertiary level.

In the same year that Jeppe Girls celebrates 100 years, matric learners from the school attained a 100% pass rate.

One hundred and fifty-five of the 157 candidates who wrote the exams passed with marks which will allow them to study further at tertiary level.

Twenty-five learners achieved two distinctions each and 47 learners achieved a distinction each.

“90,45% obtained admission to a bachelor’s degree. The girls achieved 220 distinctions in all.

“As we celebrate our centenary year, matriculants, we are very proud of their achievements and thank their parents and teachers for assisting them with their education over the last 12 years,” said headmistress Miss Dina Gonçalves.

“We wish the class of 2019 a most rewarding and fulfilling future as they seek solutions to improve our planet and we look forward to hearing your stories of courage,” she said.

A full house of eight distinctions, including one in advance programme English went to Mandisa Mpinga.

Kezia Reddy was the school’s second highest achiever, earning seven distinctions.

Six distinctions went to Abigail Hartley and Khwezi Zwane.

Jessica Barker, Kirsten Dickinson, Mbali Ncube, Melissa Nyalungu, Holly O’Halleron each obtained five distinctions.

Four distinctions went to Marlene Angwafor, Erin Devine, Aaminah Hassan, Kimberley January, Amina Mahomed, Zainab Manack, Nothando Moalusi and Shannon Palmer.

Safiyyah Ayob, Jessica Bonthuys, Minhal Ilyas, Georgia Kowa, Boitumelo Langa, Carissa Lazarus, Amanda Mashingaidze, Khanysile Mnguni, Ineeleng Moope, Katleho Mosia, Makyla Reddy, Jessami van der Merwe and Kasey Walters each achieved three distinctions.
